Privacy and the GDPR
Your personal information
What a message to nievigo.com contains, why we use it and on what basis, who else may receive it, how long we keep it, and your rights under the GDPR.
Whenever you contact us, by form or by email, you send us personal data. Here is who looks after it, what we gather and for what, and what you can ask of us.
Controller
NIE Vigo is the controller of data received through this site; write to ola@nievigo.com about anything that concerns it.
The data
Only your name and email address must be filled in. Anything else is your choice: a phone number, your nationality, the procedure on your mind, a description of your case. Each time a form is sent, the server also logs when it was sent, from which IP address and with which browser; this protects the forms from abuse.
Purposes and legal bases
We use your data to reply, first with an automatic acknowledgement in your inbox and then, at your request, to get your procedure ready with you. That rests on two legal bases: measures you request before a contract is signed, and our legitimate interest, which is keeping spam and misuse away from the forms. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
Recipients
When a partner firm can deal with your request better than we can, we forward it so that the firm can answer you, and for no other use. The companies hosting the site and delivering our email act only on our instructions, under contract. Authorities receive data only where the law obliges us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that lead nowhere are deleted once they serve no further purpose. When we prepare a procedure with you, its file stays for the period the law sets and is erased after that.
Your say over your data
You may ask us, under the GDPR, for a copy of your data or a portable version of it, for corrections, for deletion or for limits on its use, or object to that use altogether. Write to ola@nievigo.com: the answer comes within the GDPR’s time limit. If you remain dissatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the AEPD, Spain’s data protection authority.
Cookies
A single technical cookie lets forms be sent securely. Nothing on the site tracks you or serves advertising.
